We started Catalyst to build a true studio for every member of the family, from a 2-year-old's first dance class to adults taking class for themselves. That mattered to us from the very beginning.
Kansas City has a lot of studios that do a lot of things well. We set out to build something new: a well-rounded studio where serious training and an encouraging culture go hand in hand.
For our young dancers, that means strong technical training in a positive environment, from teachers who care as much about who they're becoming as how they dance. We hold them to high standards, because technique is the foundation for everything else. But our goal is bigger than dance. We want every dancer to leave Catalyst a better dancer and a better person: confident, disciplined, resilient and kind, and ready for whatever comes next.
For adults, it means dance, yoga, Pilates and barre in a welcoming space where you can try something new, get stronger and make time for yourself.
That's what our name means to us. A catalyst sparks growth at any age, and we hope what you build here stays with you long after you leave the studio.
